Attorney Raquel Vallejo

Raquel Vallejo is an experienced civil litigator and trial attorney, having represented corporate and individual clients in a broad range of legal disputes. Such matters include complex business, real estate, partnership and shareholder, intellectual property, employment, financial, family business, entertainment, federal agency, securities, insurance and class action litigation. Raquel has extensive trial and arbitration experience in state and federal courts, including her unanimous defense verdict for owners of The Forum to claims of ADA and Unruh Act violations, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. In 2009, Raquel helped to obtain a $29 million arbitration award in a real estate fraud case. In a case arising out of a bank's restated financials, Raquel represented a former CEO's successful defense to claims of securities fraud and breach of contract, while prevailing on his employment cross-claims for a million dollar arbitration award. Raquel also was part of the winning trial team in a high profile easement dispute between two luxury sister communities. She is credited with the skillful preparation and defense of celebrity clients at deposition and trial, and direct examination of multiple plaintiffs and witnesses at trial and during a post-judgment contempt action. Raquel also prevailed in the half dozen cases she tried as in-house counsel at State Farm, including multiple unanimous defense jury verdicts.

Raquel is adept at analyzing cases and developing litigation strategy to efficiently achieve clients' desired results, including resolution through early mediation and dispositive motions. Raquel has devised, authored and argued dozens of successful summary judgment/adjudication motions, including in a multi-million dollar real estate contract dispute, with the decision affirmed and published by the California Supreme Court. Raquel has also vigorously prosecuted and defended multiple trademark and patent infringement cases, including drafting and arguing a manufacturing client's successful patent lost profits award. She has represented lenders in actions alleging violations of federal (FCRA and TILA) and California (UCL) law, and also represented lender/investors in independent film financing disputes, including during international arbitration and federal trial.

Raquel graduated from UCLA School of Law in 1995, where she served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board, and received her B.A. in English from California Statute University Fullerton in 1989.

Raquel is admitted to practice before all California state courts, the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California.
